Crewe and I are getting ready to make these cookies. We will let you know how they turn out. Or try them for yourself.

glazed lemon cookies

3/4 c. butter, room temp
3/4 sugar
2 large egg yolks
1/2 tea. vanilla extract
1/4 salt
2 c. flour

glaze
2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice, plus more if necessary
1 tea. grated lemon zest
1 c. confectioners' sugar

Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg yolks, vanilla, and salt. Beat to combine. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just incorporated.

Divide dough in half and shape into 1 1/4 inch diameter logs. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate until firm, about 30 min.

Heat oven to 350. Slice the logs into 3/8 thick pieces. Bake until lightly golden, 16-20 min. Let cook on baking sheets for 5 min. then transfer.

In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners sugar, lemon juice and zest until if forms think but pourable glaze ( add more lemon juice if necessary). Dip the top of each cookie into the glaze and let set, about 15 min.
