Christmas Recap

Our Christmas in California 2008

6AM Dayne awakes and Rich brings her to our bed to hang out. "mom, mom. mom. mom. mom" is repeated so many times that I am praying for Crewe to wake up soon.

Crewe wakes up and we got take a look at all the booty Santa left us. Boy did he treat us good this year. Crewe got a Planet Hero Station and Baby Dayne got a kitchen. Both were huge hits and have already brought much entertainment.

7:30 I start breakfast. I made Carmel rolls (which turned out so good. I bet I have not made them in over a year). Right as we were eating I noted, "Schofields all over the world are making and eating this breakfast." I felt very connected to the family. The Schofields, not the Mob.

8:30 Start opening presents. Great gifts. Thanks everyone.  My favorite might be the purple Vans my dad bought me. Rich loved his XM radio. Dayne is crazy about a pair of clip on earrings. Crewe is digging his fish game from the 4 brothers.

11:30 Leave for Richard's Grandparents house. We are the first there and enjoy getting to chat with his Grandparents. We ate a small lunch and hung out with the Palmers as the slowly rolled in.

2:00 Back at home. Start getting ready for our friends/family to arrive.

4:00 Friends come over. They bring so much food. We have made chicken/rice tacos.  We eat dinner. Then we break out the games. We have a Wii upstairs. A Wii downstairs. And games being played at the tables. So much soda is drank.  I loved having my friends here. Thanks for coming. We had around 22 of us.

12:30am Everyone leaves and Rich and go to bed. As we lay down we talk about the great day we had. We are grateful for good buddies who helped us celebrate that day. We are grateful for family that we got to spend time with. WE are grateful for the Gospel. We crazy about our kids and loved seeing them have such joy over today. Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas

This Holiday Season has been a very different one for me. It is the only the second time in my 31 years that I will not be with my mom and dad. I hate that my parents are alone. I hate that I don't have a house to invite them to.  HATE IT!   But I also am loving it......

I am loving having my own tree. I have been buying gifts, making lists and working on all my surprises. We are having very good friends come over for Christmas dinner. I made the menu. We are having a taco bar and playing games. I am looking forward to having happy memories made with them. I am excited for Santa to come to our house. I am breathlessly waiting for my kids and Rich to open the gifts that I have been pondering and thinking about for the past month.

I miss you mom and dad. I wish we were together but I know that I will have a great Christmas because you taught me how to do it.  I have watched you perfect the Christmas day. I have  breakfast all planed, my wrapping paper matches ( with those weird papers tucked in back), plans to call my brothers and music in the air.  I have been taught of our love for Jesus Christ and the reason for celebrating. Thank you.

Merry Christmas! I miss you family.

Baby Dayne

Baby Dayne is ready for Christmas. Happy Christmas Eve.

Random Story Time

Did you know that my stomach always hurts in the morning? And I hate breakfast? For the past couple of years I have a drink for breakfast. Sometimes it is a protein shake or a instant breakfast or a smoothie. Something of that nature.

This morning I was waiting for the shower to warm up and drinking my drink. When I tested the water I found that is was PERFECT. The perfect temp. The perfect spray. So I decided to hop on in.....with my drink. Do you know how to shower and maintain a perfect breakfast drink? It is not easy but I DID IT.

Although I did put too much conditioner in my hair.

You're a Bad Book

I started this book last week.  In fact it was due at the library but the cover looked too enticing so I decided to pay the hefty fee (10 cents a day) and keep the book until I was done.  The author is British in fact the novel in an import--not even printed in America! It was very charming and used lots of "British talk" which can be confusing but I muddled through. UNTIL  I got that feeling that I would know how it was going to end. SHE HOOKED UP WITH HER COUSIN!!! like HAPPY EVER AFTER WITH HER COUSIN.  Incest is not best! And with that I quit reading the book.

love it

I love this family tree. I kind of have a thing of family trees. I really like to buy them for my mom.  Every time I am home I find myself studying the one I bought her a few years ago at Red Envelope.  I would like one for myself but not this one. First it is too much money, hard to get--it is from England, and it is blue.  A color I do not have a relationship with.  But it is very cool. Very.

Our Lives

It has been cold here. I know, it is not Montana. But still, it is WINTER. Burrrr...... Crewe had a really cute quilt on his bed that was too thin. Plus it had airplanes on it and Crewe is SO OVER airplanes. This month we bought Crewe a new down comforter. I know not a really exciting post but my mom will like seeing Crewe's new bed.

In other cold news.....it has been RAINING and RAINING. Yes, I have been wearing my pink galoshes that I bought the last time I was in Paris. That is right. Rocking the Rainboots.

Unexpected Guest

We had an unexpected guest this weekend. A bird named Skye. When I went to pick  Crewe up from school on Friday they tricked me into taking the bird home for the weekend. It really has been fine and kids loved having him (or maybe it is a girl?) with us. I did move him/her downstairs when we had friends over on Saturday night. I thought our house was starting to smell like a zoo. For a small time Crewe had a pet. And that was good enough for us.

A gift

I found a great little shop on Etsy that was selling Lab cards. I emailed her and told her I wanted a print, 2 dogs and could she add their names? It was all done and I am thrilled with the out come. I gave the print to my mom for an early holiday gift so she could have it up this month. We bought a red mat and black frame for it (on Black Friday, we were at Michael's by 6am).  I love it.
Here is a picture of real deals.

What I have been Reading

I read all 3 of these books while I was in Montana. My dad had a stack waiting for me. I would have brought them all home with me  but I had no room. So I read what I could while I was there.

The Brass Verdict was really really good. Lawyer book. Same character as the Lincoln Lawyer. Check it.
I swore off Harlan Coben after The Woods. But this was pretty good. Really fast read and when you are getting up ass early with your kids and trying to stay downstairs so they won't wake up the house, you need entertainment too.
This book I brought with me on the plane, you know in case my kids were stolen and I had time to read....Vampire book. The first one in a series. And I love me a series. Pretty Good but not GREAT. However, I have book 2 in my line to read so we will see.

Oh Christmas Tree

We have not had a Christmas tree in a couple of years. So this year I decided that we needed a tree. A living tree.  It smells so good. And yes, it is black, hot pink, Eiffel Towers and poodles. And I LOVE IT!!!!
