Prop 8

I had a really hard time when our church asked us come out and support Prop 8. As I have spent time reading, talking, praying and listening my church leaders  I am now able to say that I support Prop 8.  It is not about hate or bigotry.

Rich's cousin Mindy said it best, " I support the rights of committed, non-heterosexual couples to receive the civil rights that heterosexual couples receive, which they already receive in the California. I do not support Government recognition of such relationships as marriage because it deemphasizes the significance of that sacred, unique union- the natural and biological, millennial-honored means for conceiving and establishing families...." Thanks Mindy for the help.
My computer is dying and my bank account is empty. Bad combo. So I can't any pictures to download and I was having issues the last couple of days getting blogger to post. Ah. Maybe I will be back........

Letters Home

**Here are a compilation (plus a few additional thoughts) of emails that I sent home while I was in Greece. This is my way to journal and keep my memories. ***

Dear Family,
I made it here after 26 hours of flying. We had a long lay over in Munich and so we did what we do best....got on a train. We went into the city center and started our trip.  At the airport in Germany I bought a book for my German speaking friend. It is by an author that I love. I also bought a book in paperback (in english) that is not released in America. I rock. On to Athens.....
We spent the day in Athens. We woke up and had a breakfast at the hotel. Not bad but very European. Then hiked up to the Parthenon. It was very high and so beautiful. There are stray dogs all over the areas. Dad wanted to stop and pet EVERY SINGLE dog. After lunch Natalie and I started counting the strays and we got to 32.

After the hike we spent the day walking around Athens. We saw so many amazing things. We walked and walked and walked and walked and then walked some more. We shopped and sight saw all day. After a gross lunch, Barf, I headed back to a small hole in the wall that I had seen earlier in the day. I ordered the BEST chicken Gryro and a Cola Light for 3 Eruos. It was so good and totally a steal.

We are having a great time. My feet are super tired. We are leaving early in the AM for Mykonos. It should be a long boat ride so my feet will have a little break.

Much love,
Ash

Ps Aaron, I tried Bakalvi after dinner tonight . So very good.

PPS Ethan is eating Crepes every chance he gets. I think this is a fabulous idea.

Me, Old?

I think I am getting old. Not really old but kind of-not-young. Here is why I think I getting old:

1. I no longer think the MTV Music Awards are cool. I don't even know many of the "stars".

2. I am obsessed with making sure I have my medicine to take on my trip this week.

3. I get anxiety when watching "Gossip Girl." I want them all to be nice and get a long!

On the flip side:

1. I still like VERY LOUD music.

2. I can stay up late.

3.I am concerned about the color of my skin. I am getting another spray tan this week. I love it.

Happy Birthday Pop!

Today is my Dad's birthday. He is a great dad and guy. Here are the ABC's why we think so:

He is an Amazing dad. He taught me to love Books. He is thoughtful and kind and loves to tease Crewe  his fun grandson. Dayne is his namesake. An excellent Example at of fatherhood.  Finn is the dog he took from us when we could not do it anymore. He is an awesome example to his Grandsons- He has 6 of them. He is a very funny man, I would even say, Hilarious. Ice Cream- he likes chocolate. While I think it's gross. He is always  willing to share, even with Jody, a great wife to him. In case you didn't know, he has Killer thigh muscles  and no hair on his lower Legs. He is lives in Montana and Never wants to leave. It is not rude to say he is Opinionated, he gives great advice. Here is a secret,  he makes the best Pop Corn. Quick to get up in the morning to walk the dogs and also fits in a Run.  "Remember you are a Schofield" his mantra. He is quite Tall, I hope Crewe gets his genes. Under it all he is a softy. Vader like in his defences. We all love him because he is X-tra amazing to us. Ze Love You!

The Weekend

We had a taking it easy weekend. It was so great. Higlights:

-Dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Kids were so good.

-Birthday party of Crewe's friend. We all went and got to see our friends too.

-Played games with Angie/Nathan. Both Rich and I won a game of Settlers.

-Took our broken computer to the Apple Store. They could fix it for $450. We made an appointment with an independent computer fixer. Still braced for the cost. Then we took our computer to Nathan on Sunday--he fixed it for free. YAY.

-Watched Conference on Sunday and some on Saturday. Very enjoyable.

-Yogurt from Blush.

Here is to You

I am getting threatening emails to update my blog. So sorry. I didn't know I had a following:) Life has been alittle nuts. Here is a rundown.

1. I went to dinner Tuesday night with friends, Indain. Good. Had bad heartburn in the middle of the night.

2. Monday night we had an ALL Palmer Family Home Evening. I loved it. My nephew, Jonny, directed the song while Crewe and James "played" the paino. SO much noise. After the lesson we played Rock Band. *the picture was from along time ago. i found it on aj's computer.

3. Baby Dayne broke our computer cord. AH. I just bought a new cord last month for $90 bucks. So I have to steal AJ's computer when she isn't looking.

4. I am taking a scrap book workshop tonight. I am not yet excitied about it but I will get there.

5. I went to Barns and Noble last night (followed by another great girls dinner, with great friends. thanks guys) and I noticed they had a "Vampire Love" section. Doesn't that seem wierd?
