Baby Dayne is in dance class. We have been doing for a couple of weeks and I am not sure who loves it more. Me or Dayne? When she saw these pictures she proclaimed, "I go to dance class today!"

Asleep

Rich came upstairs the other night to this sight. Our boy got out of his bed after being asleep in his bed for a couple of hours. I guess I am not the only one that loves my yellow chair.

Comfort

She told me that she needed Finn! So I got him and then she slept. She can't be that comfortable, right?

A New Piece of Heaven

*** Brayden. This cute little monkey kept escaping the house. It's a good thing we kept finding him.****
This past weekend we were lucky enough to get to go our friends beach house. BEACH HOUSE. It was only about 1 1/2 hours away. Well on Friday it took us longer but we went in Theresa's car with a dvd player. It was so wonderful. The house is beautiful. The kids were great. The company was fantastic. Heaven awaits......
A bed a loveliness. I didn't sleep in this bed but when I went to take a picture of our room the bed wasn't made so.... I did crawl into this bed with Theresa and chat for an hour or so.
We brought a pack in play for dayne but she was cold and not having any part of it. (not like her). Crewe was in the same room but in a bunk bed. When we went to bed that night this is what we found. Both kids in another bed, together.

From the back porch. The first day we were there is was really warm, hot even. We took the kids to the beach in swimsuits. The water was freezing but that didn't stop Crewe. The next two days it was coldish. We just took the kids to beach with sweatshirts on. Also the last day we saw dolphins jumping the water. I could see them from where I took this picture. Heaven.
You know I sat here and read.
Thanks guys we had a great weekend. And yes, we would like to come back!

Book Nerd

The start of the book year is upon me. I keep track of the books I read from Sept1 to the end of August the next year. Remember I just blogged about it. Well so far this year I read 1 book. Ok really by the 14th, TWO WEEKS, I had read one book. I read another book this week.

Anyway the book I read, Blood Promise, was SO good. I am debating putting the cover on here because it looks like a bad porn book. But it totally is not. It is considered Urban Fantasy. Blood Promise was the 4th book in this series. It is about....I hate to say it.... vampires, half human/vampires and the such. I picked the first book for my book group to read this mont (but that mostly because I want to decorate the table with a vampire/halloween theme next month). AND the first book starts out at a school for vampires in MONTANA. Need I say more....

I'm just saying check it.

*alright I added the book cover.

What Up

I have totally forgot to work on my blog this week. I have thought of posts and I have even a few pictures. But my mind has taken a vacation. Here are a few floating thoughts:

1. Baby dayne has not, once, this week gone potty in the toilet. Ah the accidents.

2. I may hit the movies tonight by myself. My usual movie partner has bagged out on this movie.

3. My parents are in China. The not talking to my mom every day and anytime I want is strange. I have spoken to my brother way more than I normally do. I like it.

4. Both our cars have been in the shop this week. One was because we saved up to have much needed work. The other broke.

5.My kids have been having a rough week. I think it is time to come up with a new reward/punishment system. We have been doing the marbles for over a year now. But I am drawing blank at what to do. Crewe really responds with the marbles.

A Real Girl

Dear Memories-
Let's not forget Dayne's first professional pedicure. Because it was awesome! It was time to take her to the hollow land of mani's/pedi's. She had both. Hot fluorescent pink with sparkles. She sat perfectly still during the process. And perfectly still while she dried. Then she hung out while we (both Mother and Grandmother) got our feet done. Let's not forget how much you LOVE having a girl. How much fun it was and how this is only the beginning.

Love,
the nail obsessed women in your family

the trip

Dear Amsterdam,
I miss you.
I wish we were coming back soon but not so.
I wish I were on a boat flowing through your town this week.
Love,
the traveler

the baby dayne

Dear Baby Dayne,
I love you.
You are back sliding in the potty training department and I'm okay with it. I don't want you to grow up. Alright, I am not okay with the messes, but still.
You are so funny. Today when you came walking out of your room with Crewe's underwear on your head. Very funny.
You LOVE chips and salsa. I love that.
You are starting dance today. I am so excited for you!
You still take a nap everyday. You even still have a pacifer (grrrr...) but only in your bed.
And of course, you still snuggle with blankets to sleep. In your crib.
I love you.
Mom

I love you

Dear Husband,
I know that things have been a little tough this past week. And I must sing the praises of you. I had my minor procedure (the flipping doctor kept calling it an operation and it was freaking me out). Last Friday. I felt fine that day- duh I was super numb. The next day..... not so great. This whole week has been full of me complaining and you helping. One day you and Dayne disappeared for a while and came home with a soda, another time flowers and last time you did the disappear trick you dropped stuff off at the DI and returned library books. You are a good man. A kind man. Thanks babe!

Love,
Wife
PS And I loved that you and Crewe tried to get me a bagel this morning but were thwarted in your attempts.

This Year of Books

It is September 1st. It is the end of my book year. I started keeping a book journal at the end of August 2005 (or 2004). This year I read 92 Books. It really is an out of control amount. But then I thought about it. It is really 1.7 books a week. Plus I had major vacations that involved reading, Greece, Portugal, Mexico, 2 trips to Montana and a Cruise. Here are a few of my book memories from the year.

*I bought a English book in the Germany airport. I was able to read on the plane (unheard of) and I needed another book.

*I discovered YA fiction. I love it.

* Read most of my book group selections. Hated Angels of Destruction. Loved the Goose Girl.

* I utilized my public library. I learned how much I love putting a book on hold, forgetting about it and then get the email telling me it is ready for me to come get.

* I finally read a Philippa Gregory book. And loved it.

*Read a terrible book and left it in the Bahamas.

*Rich's Grandpa brings me his old books and we discuss the books that we both read (although he just got a Kindle)

* Favorite memory. Sitting in the BEST cozy spot on the deck in Greece. I was able to read and read. And chat with one of my best friends.
