the fall

Sunday night we came home from our long weekend away and we all were very tired. The kids were beyond tired. They were so good all weekend that they couldn't take it anymore. The demons in them bused out. They fought, the cried, they complained. We just need to feed them, bath them and then we will put them in bed, I told Rich. Our need for peace was strong and so we aimed to have them in bed by 6pm. Times were getting rough so we decided to throw them in the shower while our dinner cooked. Dayne cried the whole time in the shower. So finally it was time to get out and dayne slipped and fell. She hit her head on the slider part of the shower. 1. Blood everywhere. 2. much swearing from me. 3. Crewe freaking out. 4. I live with my in laws. Who were NOT home.

We decided for Rich to take Dayne to the ER and I would met them once I had Crewe somewhere. He needed to be distracted. Our good friends next door. NOT HOME. Rich left and I left with Crewe in my car. I called one of my best friends. Told her I was bringing her Crewe. She called back and said that she sent her husband to meet me half way. Thanks guys!

We spent the next 4 hours in the ER with Baby Dayne. She was so good and even about the whole thing. She had to get 4 stitches in her forehead. I stood in the hallway while the stitching was happening (this is why she has 2 parents). Then when it was done, I swooped in and saved her. :)

Our first trip for stitches for either of our kids. A dramatic milestone, one I hope we don't achieve very often.

Mexico Here WE COME

My aunt and uncle have a house in Mexico. I love going to the house. We always have the best time. Laying around, swimming, making cookies and eating Mexican food. It is VERY casual and once you get past all the dust..... The kids and I are meeting my mom and going for a week. We will be back next week.

I have not been there since 2006.  Enjoy the retro pictures.

Done Reading

My sweet nephew Ethan recommended this book. Even better, he lent his copy. I loved this book. Thanks E.

This book for me, was a little slow to start. It may have been that I spent only a few minutes here and there reading. Once I sat down and READ. I loved it. The story is of a simple boy who turns out is the son of a powerful God. Greek Gods are still a live and part of this world. The adventure that Percy goes on is captivating and a lot of fun.

I would totally recommend this book. It is the first in a series of 4 books. Thanks Ethan.

He is Off

*a picture from this past weekend*

Rich is off.......Rich left today for Yosemite. He is riding his bike ALL the way there. Today they are riding 100 miles (actually 96 miles). It is around 50 miles tomorrow and 27'ish the last day. He was up and ready very early this morning. He has been training for months for this ride. He has lost weight too. I am very proud of him. Now, please don't die.

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a great weekend. AND I did not take 1 picture. Lame. I know.

On Friday Crewe went to school and then home with a friend. So Baby Dayne and I had a very long morning of errands and hanging time. I pinched my back in morning and spent much of day in pain. I medicated myself the best I could and still be safe to have kids with me. Friday night we had a few friends over for a small birthday dinner for Rich. I made an enchilada casserole, that turned out very good. Who knew? We played game until 1am. I love nights like this.

Saturday morning at 8:00AM our Ward had an Easter Egg Hunt. This was the first year that we have made it. Now, we are morning people but we are not usually dressed, at a park and eating candy by 8:15am.

Rich was on his last Saturday bike ride before he leaves this week for the big trip. He is riding to Yosemite and leaves this week on Wed.

Saturday night we headed down to Palo Alto. BYU was playing Stanford in men's volleyball. We went with  Steve and Kelli, Dave and Crissie and John.  We ate dinner at a great taco place, hit the game (we lost) and then found a funky desert shop. Not very often do we get to spend time with the family without kids. It was really enjoyable and we both had a great time.

Sunday morning the Easter Bunny made a trip to our house. She left a trail on M&M's as she hopped out of our house. Rich got dayne a cup to pick up the candy. She replied, "NOT IN THE CUP. PUT M and  M'S IN MY MOUTH!" We went to Brunch at Kayleen and Trevors house. It was great food. Kayleen's mom and dad were in town and I loved getting to catch up with them.

Church. Both of my kids kept trying to fall asleep. Finally I left and took Dayne home. As soon as I left Crewe fell asleep.

The Family all came over for a great dinner (what diet?). The kids hunted eggs. The adults hunted eggs.

At 9pm I fell asleep on the couch watching tv.

It was a good weekend.
